Job Description: Our client are an expanding Freight Forwarding company who are looking to expand their operation further in the UK , by opening a new office in Manchester to focus on Air Freight.
The established Freight Forwarding company are looking to add an Air Freight Trainee / Apprentice who has 1 - 2 years experience in Air Freight located in the Manchester area to join a new team based at Manchester Airport. Salary would be 16K - 17K
The client would look at someone who has just completed their apprenticeship and looking for a move.
The successful candidate will be trained to handle Airfreight Imports and Exports from start to finish. The client will take care of this training, but they just need someone who's been around the airport for 12 months or so and know how it works.
Essential experience :
- Previous experience Speaking with Airlines and their handling agents.
- Know the cargo centre
- Well organised and good on the phone.
- Have a basic understanding of customs procedures
- Have their own car
- Understands the basic costs for: Airline handling, security, delivery.
- Aviation Security basics (Knows the process for screening cargo)
- DGR Basics. (Knows what DGR is)
Bonus experience would be:
- Have worked with Cargo Wise.
- Hold a DG by Air Certificate.
- Knowledge of ocean freight and the process
