Job Description: Our client based in Solihull (Birmingham) are a rapidly expanding Time Critical Logistics specialists moving Automotive parts and other Time Critical products across Europe and worldwide via Dedicated Vehicles of varying sizes, Air Charter and On-board Courier.

Due to expansion and Brexit our client is now looking for a new experienced Customs / Brexit Co-ordinator ideally with experience within European Time Critical Logistics to join their Birmingham team and assist with the successful movement into the UK of (Apply online only) Shipments a month.

Purpose of Role :
- To ensure all Customers goods arrive in the UK legally meeting all new Import regulations, as smooth and on time as possible, with minimal delays at the Ports and Airports and without any issues if possible.
- To meet client requirements within budgetary and operational restrictions to ensure a suitable profit for the company is made.
- To build strong, productive relationships with clients to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all Customs paperwork and documents are checked and correct, when loaded onto the system and sent over to relevant agents for clearing.
- Ensure all relevant Customs procedures are followed and therefore the border crossings run as smooth as possible and vehicles/packages are not held up at ports, costing time, money and customer satisfaction.
- Register the company on the Government Portal and secure the Kent Pass
- Resolve any Customs issues and report back to all clients
- Act professionally and in line with our clients procedures in relation to dealings with client's and contractors.
- Ensure that services are delivered as agreed.
- Set the Customs role up, so eventually with development, investment and time our client can become a broker and the successful person can manage that department
- Supervise 1 member of staff on Data Input.

Group Policies and Procedures (Business Intelligence, Compliance, Finance, HR, IT, Legal)
- To undertake all activities in accordance with applicable group policies and procedures so as to ensure that the interests of the Group and individual corporate entities are protected at all times.
- At all times to ensure that legal and commercial risks (to the extent relevant to the post holder role) are identified and minimised through effective communication with applicable stakeholders as well as relevant support functional departments and, when necessary Board of Directors.

Other
- Maintain an active interest and up to date, detailed knowledge of the transport and logistics market.
- To carry out any other duties within the competence of the role holder, as requested (including additional working hours as and when required).
- To travel when required in line with business needs.
- Be aware of and comply with the company policies.
- Participate in the on-call duty rota within the operations team.

Experience
- Good experience dealing with all Customs procedures for European Full Load Imports, Air Freight Imports, Air Charters and Hand Carry work.
- Fully up to date with all Brexit regulations
- Strong IT, Admin and interpersonal skills
- Languages would be an advantage - Polish, Russian, Romania, Latvian or Slovakian
