Job Description: Cobham Aviation Services are looking for a Senior HR Advisor (known internally as HR Advisor - Contract & Bid Support) to support an exciting surge of contract bids and tender work.

The position is offered as an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

Working with a wider Bid and Business Development and Sales team (BD & Sales), you will tailor the HR tender contents to the requirements of each individual bid, through the use of market intelligence research, employment law research, liaison with internal and external key stakeholders and use of existing HR bid templates.

You will receive direction and guidance from the BD & Sales Bid Manager, working closely with members of the HR team (who will also provide guidance and HR templates from previous bid work).

This role is based at our Bournemouth Airport site and requires infrequent travel. An element of remote working will be offered, but candidates need to be commutable to the site when required.

As a HR Advisor your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

CIPD, CPP or similar HR related qualification desirable.

An experienced HR generalist with demonstrable experience operating at Advisor or Business Partner level.

Able to work autonomously but used to being part of a wider, complex HR team.

Experience of bid management and bid co-ordination on traditional contract forms at tender and construction stages would be highly desirable, but not essential.

High quality presentational skills and ability to present to a varied audience including clients, design team supply chain and internally

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Effectively manage communications and information updates through a variety of different managers and key stakeholders

Confidentiality at all times

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure

Ability to be assertive and challenge managers as appropriate

As a HR Advisor your main responsibilities will involve:

To manage the HR element of the bid qualification (bid go / no go) process for new opportunities

Participate in virtual meetings and manage inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from BD & Sales, finance, commercial, legal and delivery (Engineering and Flight Operations)

Preparing and reviewing the HR aspects of the bid, including confirming headcount and resourcing (including mobilisation) requirements, cost of living benefits, housing benefits, salary benchmarking.

Ensuring all HR and people related costs are included in the final cost model to the BD & Sales lead

Gathering and collating legal advice as required (eg if legal advice is required relating to International HR matters as identified in the bid process)

To objectively appraise the HR element of tender submissions, to add and edit information as necessary in order to structure an effective response.

Contributing to the overall written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation (such as preparation of an HR summary)

Responsible for ensuring tenders are submitted consistently ahead of the deadlines set by the BD & Sales Team.

Pro-actively initiate the creation of any additional HR documents or policies to ensure the company is in line with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines. Working alongside the existing HR team to understand, adapt or streamline any existing HR policies and processes that impact on the bid proposal.

To co-ordinate your own goals and milestones (as directed by the BD & Sales lead) and to produce work for the Bid Team in good time for the relevant document submission.

Investigate the marketplace to enable positive comparison with competitors (eg salary benchmarking, additional employment benefits) and ensure full compliance with the current employment legislative procedures.

You will also be required to undertake other HR tasks as may be reasonably expected within the scope and grading of the post, for example, support with Employee Relations cases etc.
